System requirements

• macOS 13.0 (Ventura) or later
• Apple Mail.app and/or IMAP mail account
• Automation permission for Mail (if using Mail.app scanning)

Getting started

1. Download Neat Inbox from the Mac App Store.
2. Grant Automation access when prompted: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Automation → Neat Inbox → Mail.
3. Start your 7-day full trial and run your first scan.
4. Review flagged messages, then clean in bulk when you're comfortable.

Common issues

Mail.app returns no data

Check that Neat Inbox has Automation permission for Mail in System Settings. Restart Mail.app and try again.

IMAP connection fails

Verify your server settings and that your provider allows IMAP access. For Gmail, you may need an app-specific password if 2FA is enabled.

Restore purchase

Open Neat Inbox → Settings → License → Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.

Trial expired

After the 7-day trial, scanning requires a one-time unlock ($24.99) through the Mac App Store. No subscription.
